Call or Text (352) 722-5295Exhaust Manifolds on the 2018-2023 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel
The EcoDiesel is a 3.0L, 60-degree V6 built by VM Motori in Cento, Italy, with a compacted graphite iron block and heat-treated aluminum cylinder heads. Exhaust from both banks is collected and sent to a single variable-geometry turbocharger. On the 2020-2023 third-generation engine, which Ram described as about 80 percent new, that turbo is a new water-cooled unit with an electronic actuator. The manifold-to-head joints and the joint between the exhaust manifold and the turbo are the seals this collection covers.
What fails and why
The sources we rely on show no cracked-exhaust-manifold or broken-manifold-bolt pattern on the EcoDiesel. When owners talk about manifold trouble on this engine, they mean the intake manifold, where the swirl valves soot up. That changes how you shop this page. A manifold gasket set and a turbo gasket are parts you buy because a joint is being opened, for turbo work or to reach something else, not because the exhaust manifold itself is a known failure. A gasket that has been heat-cycled and clamped down should not be reused.
Stock replacement vs. upgrade
For these joints, stock replacement is the whole story. There is no performance version of a manifold gasket here, and the MAHLE parts are OE-style replacements. Replace the full set rather than a single gasket when the manifolds come off, and put a new F33632 between the manifold and turbo any time the turbo is unbolted. If you open things up and find more than a tired gasket, call the shop before you order further parts.
What we carry
MAHLE MS20567 exhaust manifold gasket set and MAHLE F33632 turbocharger gasket for the exhaust manifold to turbo joint, labeled for the 2014-2019 3.0L EcoDiesel. MAHLE's exhaust pipe flange and EGR gaskets for this truck are in the neighboring exhaust collections, so you can seal every joint you open in one order. For pipe, tips and mufflers, browse the exhaust category.
Fitment notes
The MAHLE parts here are labeled for 2014-2019 engines. In this collection's range, that means the 2018 Ram 1500 and the 2019 Ram 1500 Classic, both DS-body trucks with the second-generation EcoDiesel. The 2020-2023 DT runs the third-generation engine with a new turbo, so a 2020-2023 owner should check the part number against the old gasket or call with the VIN. The all-new 2019 DT had no diesel at all, so any 2019 EcoDiesel is a Classic. The EcoDiesel was a Ram 1500-only engine and was never offered in a 2500 or 3500.
Frequently asked questions
Is a cracked exhaust manifold common on the EcoDiesel?
Not that we can document. The sources we use show no cracked-manifold or broken-bolt pattern on this engine. The manifold owners talk about is the intake, where the swirl valves soot up.
Should I replace the turbo gasket when the turbo comes off?
Yes. The F33632 seals the joint between the exhaust manifold and the turbo, and it should be new every time that joint is opened. It is labeled for the 2014-2019 EcoDiesel.
Will the MS20567 set fit a 2020-2023 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel?
MAHLE labels it for 2014-2019 engines. The 2020-2023 engine got a new water-cooled turbo and many new parts, so do not assume it carries over. Match the part number to what is on your truck, or call us with your VIN.
