Call or Text (352) 722-5295Air helper springs on the 2014-2017 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel
Tongue weight is why most owners end up here. Ram recommends about 10 percent of trailer weight on the tongue, and on a coil-spring Ram 1500 owners report that load showing up as rear squat, headlights aimed high and trailer sway. Helper air springs at the rear axle take the sag out. Air Lift's LoadLifter 5000 rear kit (57365) is built for 2009-2018 Ram 1500s and the 2019-2023 Ram 1500 Classic, with up to 5,000 lb of leveling capacity. Installing it requires drilling, and lifted trucks may need spacers. Air Lift's 88365 kit pairs the 57365 with a WirelessONE compressor, and the compressors and controls in this collection are the parts that let you set and change pressure on the truck.
Choosing a compressor and controls
This collection is the control side of a helper-spring setup. The WirelessONE compressor system (25980 or 25980EZ) and its EZ Mount tank (25981EZ) are one path. The WirelessAIR line is the other: the 74000EZ compressor system, the 74100EZ tank and the 73000EZ control system, which runs from the app only. Air Lift's Single Load Controller II (25592) and Heavy Duty Dual Load Controller (25856) are the controller kits; a dual controller runs two circuits so each side can be set on its own. The 16192 is a replacement on-board compressor. The 52420 (2-inch) and 52440 (4-inch) air spring spacers are for trucks that sit higher than stock.
Trucks with factory air suspension
Some 2014-2017 Ram 1500s left the factory with four-corner air suspension, standard on the Limited from 2016 and optional on other trims. Those trucks level themselves, and helper air springs do not fit them. Their own air-ride compressors are a documented failure and repair item. Check the product page before assuming any part here replaces a factory air-ride component, and call us if your truck has air ride.
What we carry
Everything in this collection is Air Lift: WirelessONE and WirelessAIR compressor systems with EZ Mount tanks, the app-controlled WirelessAIR control system, the Single Load Controller II and Heavy Duty Dual Load Controller, the 16192 replacement compressor, and 2- and 4-inch air spring spacers. Ball mounts and weight distribution are in our hitches collection.
Fitment notes
For the Ram 1500 with the 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 and coil-spring rear suspension. Leveling capacity is not a tow rating: your trailer and payload limits still come from Ram's chart row for your cab, bed, drive and axle. If you're unsure which suspension your truck has, verify by VIN or call us before you order.
Frequently asked questions
Will Air Lift helper springs fit a Ram 1500 Limited with air ride?
No. Helper air springs do not fit trucks with factory four-corner air suspension, which the Limited has as standard from 2016. Those trucks level themselves. If yours isn't holding height, call the shop.
Do helper air springs raise my towing rating?
No. The LoadLifter 5000's 5,000 lb figure is leveling capacity, not a rating increase. Ram sets your limits by cab, bed, drive and axle ratio, and those chart numbers still apply with bags installed.
WirelessONE or WirelessAIR: which should I pick?
Each puts a compressor on the truck. WirelessONE is the system Air Lift pairs with the LoadLifter 5000 in its 88365 kit. WirelessAIR is a separate line with its own tank and an app-only control system (73000EZ). Compare features on each product page, or call us and tell us how you tow.
What are the 2- and 4-inch spacers for?
They make up height on trucks that sit higher than stock. Air Lift notes lifted Ram 1500s may need spacers with the LoadLifter 5000 kit. Measure your lift and check the product page before choosing the 52420 or 52440.
