2010-2018 Ram 6.7L Cummins Transmission Cooler Lines

Transmission line and cooler plumbing parts for the 2010-2018 Ram 2500 and 3500 with the 6.7L Cummins. The parts here are titled for 2010-2012 trucks with the 68RFE automatic, so confirm your model year and transmission before you order. If you drive a 2013-2018 truck, check fitment by VIN rather than assuming early parts carry over.

Transmission lines on the 2010-2018 RAM 6.7L Cummins

Standard-output 6.7L Cummins trucks in this generation use the Chrysler 68RFE six-speed automatic, filled with Mopar ATF+4. The lines carry that fluid out to the cooling circuit and back. From 2013, 3500s with the High Output engine use the Aisin AS69RC, which runs Mopar ASRC fluid on a 30,000-mile schedule, and manual trucks use the G56 six-speed. The line and bypass kits on this page are for 68RFE trucks.

Why the 68RFE deserves attention

The 68RFE has a track record worth knowing. Failures were especially common on 2007-2011 trucks and typically land somewhere between 50,000 and 150,000 miles. Watch for slipping in 4th through 6th, harsh or flared shifts, limp mode and metal in the pan. Its known wear parts are the separator plate, accumulators, solenoid pack, valve body, overdrive clutches and converter. Fluid upkeep is the easy part of owning one: Mopar ATF+4 and a new filter every 60,000 miles in severe service, or 120,000 miles in normal service. Any time you open the lines, top the fluid back up with ATF+4.

Stock replacement vs. upgrade

The Fleece FPE-TL-CUMM-1012 is a 68RFE replacement transmission line kit, made to take the place of the factory lines. The Mishimoto MMTC-RAM-10LK is a transmission cooler bypass kit. The Fleece kit replaces the lines themselves; the Mishimoto kit works on the cooler bypass side of the circuit. Read each listing for exactly which factory parts it replaces and what hardware is included, then pick the one that matches the part of the circuit you are repairing.

Fitment notes

These parts are titled for 2010-2012 6.7L Cummins trucks. If you have a 2013-2018 truck, do not assume they fit; run your VIN through the fitment checker or call. Make sure your truck has the 68RFE: its dipstick is on the passenger side, while the Aisin AS69RC in 2013 and later 3500 High Output trucks has its dipstick on the driver side, and Aisin parts never fit a 68RFE truck. Chassis-cab 3500, 4500 and 5500 trucks use different frames than pickups, so verify chassis-cab fitment separately.

Frequently asked questions

Will these transmission line parts fit my 2016 Ram 2500?

They are titled for 2010-2012 trucks only. A 2013-2018 truck needs parts listed for its own years, so use the fitment checker or call the shop with your VIN before ordering.

What fluid do I top off with after replacing 68RFE lines?

Mopar ATF+4 for the 68RFE. If your truck turns out to be a 3500 High Output with the Aisin AS69RC, it takes Mopar ASRC instead, never ATF+4.

How can I tell which automatic my truck has?

Look at the dipstick. Passenger side means the 68RFE; driver side means the Aisin AS69RC. Aisin pickups also wear the HO badge; in pickups, the Aisin came only with the 3500 High Output engine from 2013.
