The rear suspension on the 6.7L Cummins Ram HD changed partway through this generation. The 2010-2013 Ram 2500 and every 3500 ride on leaf springs. For 2014 the 2500 moved to a five-link coil rear with optional rear air suspension, and rear air was available on the 3500 too. That split decides what you buy. Air Lift's LoadLifter 5000 air springs fit the leaf-spring trucks and provide up to 5,000 lb of load-leveling. Coil-rear 2014+ 2500s need Air Lift's coil-specific kit. Trucks with factory rear air are excluded because the factory system already does the job.
One rule for every truck here: air springs level the truck under a load. They don't raise the payload or towing ratings Ram set. Payload on a 2014 2500 ran 1,360 to 3,170 lb depending on configuration, so know your number before you hook up.
Adding onboard air
An onboard compressor system lets you adjust air spring pressure from the truck instead of filling the bags by hand. Air Lift's WirelessONE compressor systems use wireless control, and the WirelessAIR control system in this collection is listed as app-only, so you run it from your phone. Fitment notes
Look under the back of the truck before you order: leaf packs, coil springs or factory air springs. Confirm which Air Lift air spring kit each spacer or upgrade pairs with on its product page. Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 chassis cabs use different frames and need their own fitment check. Verify by VIN or with the fitment checker on the product page.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need air bags if my Ram has factory rear air suspension?
No. Factory rear air, optional on 2014+ 2500s and available on the 3500, already handles leveling, and add-on kits like the LoadLifter 5000 exclude those trucks.
Will the LoadLifter 5000 fit my 2015 Ram 2500?
A 2015 2500 needs Air Lift's coil-specific kit. From 2014 the 2500 uses a five-link coil rear, and the leaf-spring LoadLifter 5000 fits 2010-2013 2500s and all 3500s of this generation.
Do air bags increase my towing capacity?
No. They level the truck, up to 5,000 lb of leveling with the LoadLifter 5000 on leaf-spring trucks, but payload and towing ratings stay where Ram set them. Use the ratings in your owner's manual for your exact truck.
