The 6.7L Cummins uses Bosch solenoid-actuated common-rail injectors, fed by a Bosch CP3 through the rail at up to 26,000 psi. Fuel reaches each injector through a high-pressure line and a connector tube, which is why many listings here offer the injector with or without its connector tube, or sell the tubes separately. Each injector is clamped by hold-down bolts and sealed with O-rings and a copper gasket. Whenever the cylinder head comes off, replace all the injector O-rings and combustion seals, not just the ones that look tired.
When injectors come out
Injector work on these trucks comes up during a replacement, a head job or a build. On a head job the rule is simple: new O-rings and combustion seals on every injector. If the complaint is a diesel smell, drips at the filter housing or a stall, look at the lines and connections too. Owners of 2014 trucks have reported injection line failures and leaks at the heater and filter connections, though those are scattered complaints rather than a confirmed pattern. Stock replacement vs. upgrade
For a truck that tows, commutes or works, stock-flow injectors are the right call. These trucks are DPF-equipped, and high-performance tunes on DPF-equipped trucks cause particulate filter clogging. Stock-flow choices here include remanufactured injectors from Alliant Power, XDP (listed as Stock HP) and BD Diesel, new and reman stock injectors and sets from Dynomite Diesel, and new or reman sets from Exergy Performance. For engines built past stock, S&S Diesel Motorsport injectors and feed tubes are here, along with Dynomite's modified connector tube set. Larger injectors must be sized to the turbo's airflow with the manufacturer's input, and a lift pump upgrade is expected alongside them.

Fitment notes
Model year is the first split. 2010-2012 pickups take the 2007.5-2012 injector, such as Alliant AP55518, XDP XD495 or BD 1725518, and 2013-2018 pickups take a different part, such as Alliant AP55621, XDP XD484 or BD 1715542. Cab & Chassis trucks are the second split, with their own numbers such as XDP XD483 and BD 1715589 for 2013-2018. A 2010 Cab & Chassis can land on either side of a mid-year split: Alliant lists AP55574 for 2010.5-2012, while XDP XD496 and BD 1715571 are listed for 2007.5-2010, so verify by VIN. Connector tubes and hold-down bolts span more years: the XDP XD528 tube is listed for 2007.5-2024 and the XD536 bolts for 1998.5-2024. Exergy sets split at 2013, while Dynomite lists its injectors for 2007.5-2018, so read the range on each listing.
Frequently asked questions
Will injectors from a 2012 Ram fit my 2014?
Usually not. Most brands split their injectors at 2013, with one part for 2007.5-2012 and another for 2013-2018, such as Alliant AP55518 versus AP55621. A few listings, like Dynomite's, cover 2007.5-2018, so read the fitment range on each one.
Do Cab & Chassis trucks use different injectors?
Often, yes. Alliant Power, XDP and BD Diesel all list separate Cab & Chassis injectors, and 2010 chassis cabs fall on either side of a mid-year split. Check the listing against your truck and verify by VIN.
What seals should I replace with injectors or a head job?
When the head comes off, replace every injector O-ring and combustion seal. The MAHLE GS33614 seal kit and the Exergy O-ring and copper gasket seal set for 2013-2018 are both here, and the Cummins 4376090 upper engine gasket kit covers 2013-2018 trucks.
Should I go with larger injectors?
Only as part of a planned build. Larger injectors must be matched to the turbo's airflow with the manufacturer's input, and a lift pump upgrade is expected alongside them. On a DPF-equipped truck that tows or drives daily, stock-flow injectors are the better choice.
