The 2004.5-2007 Ram 2500 and 3500 use a leaf-spring rear suspension. With 600 lb-ft on 2004.5 trucks and 610 lb-ft from 2005, these trucks get hooked to heavy fifth wheels and goosenecks, and the pin weight lands on those leaves. Air helper springs add adjustable support at the rear, and an onboard compressor lets you set the pressure to the load without hunting for an air hose. Signs your rear end needs help
Rear sag under pin weight shows up three ways: the rear sits low, the headlights aim high and the trailer pushes the truck. It is load-driven rather than a mileage problem, so a truck that rides fine empty can still squat with a heavy trailer on. If you see those signs, air helper springs with a compressor are the standard way to control it.

The 25980EZ WirelessONE Compressor System is the core: the compressor and wireless control for your air springs. The main fitment question for a compressor or controller is whether it works with the air spring kit on your truck, so read the listing and use the fitment checker on the product page. These trucks were sold as the Dodge Ram 2500 (single rear wheel) and 3500 (single or dual rear wheel), all with a leaf-spring rear, and are filed under RAM here. On a 2007, confirm the engine: trucks built after January 1, 2007 got the 6.7L Cummins.
Frequently asked questions
Do air helper springs raise my truck's towing rating?
No. They control sag and keep the truck level under load, but your truck's own rating still governs what it can tow and carry. Use air springs to keep the truck level, not to go past the rating.
Do I need a compressor to run air helper springs?
Not strictly, but it makes them practical. An onboard system like the Air Lift WirelessONE lets you adjust pressure for the load without a separate air source, so you can add air before you hook up and let it out when you unhook.
How do I know my truck needs air springs?
Hook up your usual trailer and look. If the rear sits low, the headlights aim high, or the trailer feels like it is pushing the truck, you have the sag these trucks show under pin weight.
