Call or Text (352) 722-5295Monitor mounts for the 2004.5-2007 RAM 5.9L Cummins
Owners of the common-rail 5.9L Cummins add a digital monitor because the factory gauges leave out boost, exhaust gas temperature and fuel pressure, the three readings the owners' literature for this engine says to watch. Once the monitor is in, it needs a home. An A-pillar mount puts the display up on the windshield post, close to your line of sight, instead of loose on the dash or down by the console.
What you will be watching
Placement matters because of what is on the screen. The guidance for 2004.5-2007 engines is an EGT ceiling of about 1,500 F, and TDR advice is to keep it under about 1,300 F on long pulls. Lift-pump pressure falling below about 5 psi at full power is the early warning for CP3 starvation and injector damage. Those are numbers you want to catch while you are driving, and especially while you are towing, not after the fact.
What we carry
Edge Products 38600 A-pillar display mount. Its listing names 2006-2009 6.7L Cummins trucks. That date range starts with the 2006 refresh, which brought a new interior, but the listing names the 6.7L, not the 5.9L. Confirm fit on the product page or with a call before you order, and check which Edge displays it holds.
Fitment notes
For a mount, the cab interior matters more than the engine. The 2006 model year brought a new interior, a new front fascia and the Mega Cab, and this mount is listed from 2006 on. If you have a 2004.5 or 2005 truck, it is not listed for your interior, so call before ordering. Separately, the 2006 CAN-bus ECM change affects which monitors work on your truck, so check the monitor's fitment for your year before you buy a mount for it. Verify by VIN.
Frequently asked questions
Will this mount fit my 2005 Ram 2500?
It is listed for 2006-2009 trucks, and 2006 is the year the interior changed. A 2004.5 or 2005 truck has the earlier interior, so do not assume it fits. Call the shop and we will check it with you.
Why does the listing say 6.7L if my truck has the 5.9L?
The mount attaches to the cab, not the engine. Its listing runs 2006-2009 and names the 6.7L, but 2006 and early 2007 trucks in that span were built with the 5.9L Cummins. Check the product page fitment for your exact truck, or call us, before ordering.
Which readings should I keep in view?
Boost, EGT and fuel pressure are the three the owners' literature for this engine stresses. Keep EGT under about 1,300 F on long pulls and well clear of the 1,500 F ceiling, and watch for lift-pump pressure dropping below about 5 psi at full power. Boost comes from the ECM through the OBD-II port; EGT and fuel pressure need add-on sensors.
