1998.5-2002 Dodge 5.9L Cummins Front Sway Bars

Front sway bar parts for the 1998.5-2002 Ram 2500 and 3500 with the 5.9L Cummins: BD Diesel end links and an end link bushing kit. End links are small parts, but Dodge put them in its own steering-wander repair procedure for these trucks, so they belong on the list when the front end feels loose.

Front sway bar parts on the 1998.5-2002 RAM 5.9L Cummins

The front sway bar ties the two sides of the suspension together to control body roll. End links connect the bar to the axle, and the bushings at each end take up the movement. On a 4WD second-gen the front axle is a coil-sprung solid Dana 60 on trailing arms and a track bar, and the end links work alongside all of it. Dodge TSB 19-10-97, the factory procedure for steering wander on these trucks, covers the steering damper, tie rods, end links and steering gear adjustment. Sway bar end links and frame bushings are a standard replacement category for the 24-valve Cummins trucks.

What we carry

BD Diesel sway bar end links (1032050), listed for 2000-2009 Cummins trucks, and the BD 1312051 sway bar end link bushing kit for the same range. Choose the links if you want new parts end to end, or the bushing kit if your links are still usable.

Fitment notes

The BD links and bushing kit are listed for 2000-2009, which covers the 2000-2002 trucks in this generation. If yours is a 1998.5 or 1999, confirm fitment before you order, since the front end changed for 2000 with different spindles, ball joints and caster eccentrics. End links are rarely the whole story on a truck that wanders, so check the track bar, steering damper and tie rods too.

Frequently asked questions

Will the BD end links fit my 1999 Ram 2500?

They are listed for 2000-2009 Cummins trucks. The second-gen front end changed for 2000, so a 1998.5-1999 owner should confirm fit with the fitment checker or call us before ordering.

Will new end links fix my wander?

They might be part of it. Wander and death wobble on these trucks usually come from several worn parts, led by the track bar's ball-stud end, the steering damper, tires and alignment. Dodge's TSB 19-10-97 checks end links along with the damper, tie rods and steering gear, so do the same.
