2007.5-2010 GMC Duramax LMM Rear Sway Bars

Rear sway bar hardware for the 2007.5-2010 GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD with the 6.6L LMM Duramax. End links are small, inexpensive parts that decide whether the stabilizer bar does any work at all, and on a Sierra that tows or carries weight they are worth a look any time the truck leans more than it used to.

What GMC put under the 2007.5-2010 Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD

The Sierra HD rides on an independent front end sprung by torsion bars through upper and lower control arms, and semi-elliptical multileaf rear springs: a two-stage pack on the 2500HD and a three-stage pack on the 3500HD. GMC's own spec sheet lists 35 mm twin-tube shocks with a 36 mm front stabilizer bar for the 2500HD, and 46 mm monotube shocks with a 34 mm bar for the 3500HD. Those are listed by model and package rather than by trim, so a Work Truck, an SLE and an SLT of the same rating share the bar and damper spec. Single-rear-wheel trucks with Z71 Off-Road add 36 mm twin-tube gas shocks, a 36 mm bar, jounce bumpers and skid plates.

What the links are up against

These are working trucks and the ratings show it: 6,900 lb of rear axle capacity on the 2500HD, 6,500 lb on the 3500HD single-rear-wheel and 9,200 lb on the dually, over a 4,800 lb front axle. Owners who put a fifth wheel or a slide-in camper on a 2500HD two-stage leaf pack report rear squat, headlights pointed high and sway, and that is normally when the rest of the rear suspension starts getting attention too. If the Sierra has been leveled with torsion keys, remember what that does at the other end: the raised front-end angles accelerate ball joint, tie rod and idler and pitman arm wear, with front-end clunks and tire wear as the tell.

Stock replacement vs. upgrade

If the truck is stock height and you only want the rattle gone, a factory-style link does the job. The BD Diesel set is sold as an upgraded replacement instead, which is the sensible pick for a Sierra that works at its rating, runs a leveling kit, or sees washboard roads and job sites. Links cost little next to the time it takes to get to them, so most owners buy the better part once.

What we carry

This page lists BD Diesel upgraded sway bar end links, part 1032126, cataloged across 2001-2019 Duramax trucks. Shocks, traction bars and the other suspension components for this truck are on their own pages.

Fitment notes

Verify the body first: the 2007 Sierra Classic HD is the previous-generation truck with the LBZ engine, and the LMM only came in the new-body Sierra from mid-2007 on. At the other end of the range, the 2011 refresh brought a new frame, control arms, torsion bars and leaf springs, so parts are grouped 2001-2010 and 2011-up and do not cross that line. Then confirm 2500HD versus 3500HD, single-rear-wheel versus dually - the dually body is 95.9 in wide against 79.9 in for a single-wheel truck - and 2WD versus 4WD by VIN.

Frequently asked questions

Will one set cover a 3500HD dually?

The listing spans 2001-2019 Duramax trucks, but the 3500HD was built as a single-rear-wheel or a dually and the two are not the same truck underneath. The dually carries 9,200 lb at the rear axle against 6,500 lb for the single-wheel version. Run your VIN through the fitment checker on the product page, or call and read us the RPO label.

Should I do shocks at the same time?

If the originals are still on the truck it is worth pricing both jobs while the Sierra is in the air. GMC specified 35 mm twin-tube dampers on the 2500HD and 46 mm monotubes on the 3500HD, and the shock listings for this truck are split by corner and by 2500 versus 3500, so have the model and drivetrain in front of you.
