Call or Text (352) 722-5295Hitch Accessories on the 2017-2019 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke
Ford gave these trucks two receiver sizes. F-250 and F-350 single-rear-wheel trucks have a 2.5-inch receiver. The F-350 SRW Crew Cab diesel on the 176-inch wheelbase and every dually have a 3-inch receiver, delivered with a 2.5-to-3-inch sleeve reducer. In the bed, the 5th-Wheel/Gooseneck Prep Package adds a 7-pin connector in the driver-side bed wall, and Ford's F-450 gooseneck kit came with 2-5/16-inch and 3-inch balls and two safety-chain tie-down bars. Accessories fill the gaps: a lost sleeve, a different ball size, or extra parts for an aftermarket hitch install.
What owners run into
Most accessory purchases come from a mismatch. You buy a trailer with a different coupler, borrow a ball mount with the wrong shank, or lose the factory sleeve reducer. A ball that does not match the coupler, or a shank that does not match the receiver, is not something to tow on. Sort it out before the trailer leaves the yard.
What we carry
From B&W Trailer Hitches we carry BW-THB hitch balls and BW-RE-SL reducer sleeves. From Wicked MFG we carry the BWFIX1 shock relocation kit, made for B&W hitch installs on 2017-2022 Powerstroke trucks. For hitches and ball mounts, see our hitches page, and for the rest of your truck, the Powerstroke catalog.
Fitment notes
Read the size marked on your trailer coupler and buy the ball to match. Check the rating on the ball, the ball mount and the receiver, and tow to the lowest one. A reducer sleeve lets a smaller shank run in a larger receiver, so make sure the sleeve matches both sizes. For the Wicked kit, confirm you have a B&W hitch and a 2017-2022 truck. Verify by VIN when in doubt.
Frequently asked questions
My dually has a 3-inch receiver. Can I use a 2.5-inch ball mount?
Yes, with a sleeve reducer. Ford shipped the 3-inch receiver trucks with a 2.5-to-3-inch sleeve reducer. If yours is missing, B&W reducer sleeves are on this page; check the sizes on the listing before you order.
What size ball does a gooseneck on these trucks use?
Ford's F-450 gooseneck kit came with both 2-5/16-inch and 3-inch balls, and the B&W GNRK1116 under-bed gooseneck uses a 2-5/16-inch ball. Match the ball to the coupler on your trailer.
Where do I plug in a 5th wheel or gooseneck trailer?
On trucks with the 5th-Wheel/Gooseneck Prep Package, there is a 7-pin connector in the driver-side bed wall. Trucks without the package use the standard 7-pin connector at the rear unless an in-bed connector has been added.
