2017-2019 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke Replacement Air Filters

Replacement elements for aftermarket intakes on the 2017-2019 Ford F-250, F-350 and F-450 with the 6.7L Powerstroke. If your truck already runs a Banks, S&B, SPE Motorsport or No Limit Fabrication intake, the matching filter, wrap or pre-filter sock is here. Order the element for the intake kit you have, not just for the truck.

Matching a replacement filter to your intake

An aftermarket intake replaces Ford's airbox with its own housing and its own element, so the factory filter number stops being useful once the kit is on. Start with the intake's brand and part number. On the Banks Ram-Air 41890, Banks offers the element oiled or dry. On the S&B 75-5085, you choose between S&B's cleanable eight-layer cotton element and a dry extendable one. Switching between oiled and dry on those kits comes down to ordering the other element. For other parts for this engine, see our Powerstroke hub.

  • Banks Power 41829 replacement air filter element
  • No Limit Fabrication NLRF cold air intake filter

Service and fitment notes

Ford's schedule calls for a new engine air filter every 45,000 miles on normal service, with an inspection at every oil change under severe service. An aftermarket element follows its maker's guidance. S&B cites 99.5 to 99.7% filtration efficiency for its media, and its cotton element gets cleaned and re-oiled rather than replaced. Several elements here list fitment beyond your truck, so go by the fitment line and your intake's part number, and verify by VIN if you are unsure.

Frequently asked questions

Can I switch from an oiled filter to a dry one?

On the Banks and S&B kits with 50-state EO numbers, yes. Banks offers both oiled and dry elements for the Ram-Air 41890, and S&B offers cleanable cotton or a dry extendable element for the 75-5085. Order the dry version made for your intake and you are done.

Why is a Duramax filter listed for my Ford?

The Banks 41829 element is listed for both the 2017-2019 Ford 6.7L Power Stroke and the 2020-2026 GM 6.6L Duramax L5P. A replacement element fits an intake housing, not an engine, so the same part can cover more than one truck. The No Limit NLRF is listed the same way across several Power Stroke engines.

Does an aftermarket filter change my service interval?

Ford's 45,000-mile schedule, with an inspection at every oil change under severe service, is the factory baseline. Once you run an aftermarket intake, follow the kit maker's service guidance for its element. A cleanable cotton element gets washed and re-oiled, and S&B sells the 88-0008 kit for that job.
