Call or Text (352) 722-5295Supporting parts on the 2015-2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke
The charging and starting system on these trucks is more than one battery and one alternator. Ford fitted dual 12-volt batteries rated 750 CCA and 78 amp-hours each, a 157-amp alternator as standard with 200-amp single and 357-amp dual options, and a serpentine belt that changes with the setup: JK-81353 for one alternator, JK-81413 for two, both on the BT-131 tensioner. A battery saver feature is standard. Cold starts on the 6.7L Powerstroke depend on eight glow plugs, one per cylinder, and every 2015-2016 engine takes the 96 mm Motorcraft ZD-18.
Diagnose before you replace
The sources we work from show no recurring alternator or starter failure for 2015-2016 trucks. That makes the connections between the big parts the first place to look. Sound battery cables and a good charging harness are the baseline for every test you run on the starter or alternator. One documented parts error belongs on this page too: a shorter ZD-17 glow plug installed in an engine built after December 1, 2012 causes hard cold starts and glow-plug codes. If your truck is hard to start cold and is setting those codes, confirm it has ZD-18 plugs, replaced as a set, before you chase cables or the starter.
Stock replacement vs. upgrade
Nothing here is a cure for a documented defect, so buy for the condition of your truck. A cable set makes sense when the factory cables or ends are damaged or corroded. A replacement charging harness makes sense when you have traced a charging fault to the wiring. Billet hold-downs are a choice: they replace hardware that is bent or missing, or they dress up a bay you keep clean.

Fitment notes
The XDP cable set and the Fleece harness are listed only through 2016, so they match the 2011-2016 truck and are not listed for 2017-and-up Super Duty models. The hold-downs carry longer ranges. Dual-alternator trucks use a different belt and bracketry, so confirm your setup before ordering anything for the alternator side. Chassis cab trucks are equipped differently from pickups; verify by VIN when in doubt.
Frequently asked questions
Do these parts fit a 2017 Super Duty?
Not all of them. The XDP cable set and the Fleece charging harness are listed for 2011-2016 only, and 2017 was an all-new truck where many engine-bay parts changed. The S&B and SPE Motorsport hold-downs list ranges that run past 2017; check each product page.
What serpentine belt does my truck use?
It depends on the alternator setup. Single-alternator trucks use JK-81353 and dual-alternator trucks use JK-81413, both with the BT-131 tensioner. Count the alternators on the front of the engine before you order.
Which glow plug does a 2015-2016 6.7L take?
The 96 mm Motorcraft ZD-18. The plug length changed for engines built after December 1, 2012, which covers every 2015-2016 truck, and the shorter ZD-17 is the wrong part. Replace them as a set when cold starts suffer.
