2011-2014 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke Steering Stabilizers

Steering stabilizers for 2011-2014 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty 4x4 trucks with the 6.7L Powerstroke, in single and dual setups. Know this going in: the factory stabilizer is a damper. It smooths the steering but cannot fix a loose track bar, tie rod or ball joint. Tighten the front end first, then choose a stabilizer.

Steering stabilizers on the 2011-2014 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke

From the factory, these trucks carry a single steering stabilizer mounted on the steering linkage. Its job is damping. It does not locate the axle or hold anything in place; the track bar and the steering joints do that. When those parts wear, the truck can slip into death wobble, and a fresh stabilizer will only quiet the shake for a while before it comes back, often within months. Front-end specialists agree on the order of work: replace the worn track bar, tie rods or ball joints first, then add a single or dual stabilizer for damping. More parts for the same truck are on the Powerstroke hub.

Single or dual?

A single stabilizer takes the place of the factory damper. A dual kit adds a second damper to the linkage. Neither one is a substitute for tight joints, and a dual kit belongs on a front end that has already been sorted out. The bigger decision is lift height. Stock and lightly leveled trucks match the 0-2 inch dual kit, while trucks lifted 2.5 to 9 inches need the 2.5-9 inch kit. BDS also lists a separate mounting kit for that lift range.

What we carry

BDS Suspension covers the dual side with kits for 0-2 inch and 2.5-9 inch lifts, plus a separate dual stabilizer mounting kit for 2.5-9 inch lifts. BDS also offers a single stabilizer kit built around its NX2 shock, listed for 2011-2016 6.7L 4WD trucks. For a single damper from another maker, the Bilstein 24-196284 B8 5100 Series steering damper is listed for 2008-2016 6.4L and 6.7L Powerstroke 4WD trucks.

Fitment notes

Everything here is listed for 4WD trucks with the solid front axle. A 4x2 Super Duty uses Twin-I-Beam front suspension and does not take these parts. BDS sells the 2.5-9 inch dual mounting kit as its own listing, so read each product's details to see what is included. Measure your lift before you order, and verify by VIN or with the fitment checker on the product page.

Frequently asked questions

Will a dual steering stabilizer stop death wobble?

Not on its own. A stabilizer only damps the steering, so it can hide the problem, but the wobble tends to come back within months. Find the worn joint first. On these trucks the track bar is the most common cause, followed by the tie rods and then the drag link.

Which BDS dual kit fits my truck?

Go by lift height. The 0-2 inch kit is for stock or lightly leveled trucks, and the 2.5-9 inch kit is for lifted trucks. If you are unsure of your lift, measure it or call the shop with your setup before ordering.

How does the Bilstein damper compare with the BDS single kit?

Both are single steering stabilizers for 4WD Super Dutys. The Bilstein 24-196284 is a B8 5100 Series damper listed for 2008-2016 6.4L and 6.7L trucks, while the BDS kit uses the BDS NX2 shock and is listed for 2011-2016 6.7L trucks. Either one takes the place of the factory single damper.
