Inside the 2011-2014 Super Duty

The 2011 Super Duty launched Ford's own 6.7L Powerstroke, the 6R140 six-speed automatic and a new front end and interior, and that cab carried through 2016. You'll find it in Regular Cab, SuperCab and Crew Cab form. The trim ladder runs XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum, with Platinum added for 2013. Lariat came as a SuperCab or Crew Cab; King Ranch and Platinum were Crew Cab only. On the dash, the instrument cluster's productivity screen shows trailer brake controller and tow data, so it's worth learning if you pull a trailer.

What fails and why

There's no known interior failure pattern specific to the diesel trucks in this range. Interior problems on a truck this age come down to the individual truck and how it has been used. When an electrical feature like a heated seat stops working, diagnose the circuit before you buy parts: check the fuse, the switch, the module and the connector. If the module tests good and the plug at the module is damaged, a connector pigtail is the targeted repair.

Repair vs. replace

A connector pigtail is a short section of wiring with a new connector on the end. Rather than replacing a full harness, you cut out the damaged plug and splice the pigtail into the existing wires. It's the right fix when the connector is the problem. If the module itself has failed, a pigtail won't bring it back, so confirm which part is bad first. Take a photo of the original connector and note the wire colors before you cut anything.

What we carry

Fleece Performance Engineering FPE-HAR-HSM-PT Heated Seat Module Connector Pigtail, listed for 2003-2019 6.0L, 6.4L and 6.7L Powerstroke trucks. Because the listing spans three engines and several Super Duty generations, match the connector on your truck to the product photos before you order.

Fitment notes

Interior parts split by cab, Regular Cab, SuperCab or Crew Cab, and by 2011-2016 versus 2017-up; the engine doesn't matter. Trim matters too, since equipment differs from an XL to a King Ranch or Platinum. Know your cab, trim and build year before you order, and verify by VIN when the listing gives you a choice.

Frequently asked questions

Will an interior part from a gas Super Duty fit my diesel?

Generally, yes. On 2011-2016 Super Duty trucks, interior parts split by cab style and model-year range, not by engine. Match your cab and year range and verify by VIN.

Which trims were offered on the 2011-2014 F-250 and F-350?

XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum, with Platinum added for 2013. Lariat came as a SuperCab or Crew Cab, and King Ranch and Platinum were Crew Cab only.

What does a heated seat module connector pigtail do?

It replaces a damaged connector at the heated seat module. You splice it into the existing harness instead of replacing the whole harness. Confirm the module works before you buy, because a pigtail only fixes the plug.

Do interior parts from a 2017 Super Duty fit a 2013?

Don't assume so. Interior parts split at 2017, so 2011-2016 parts and 2017-up parts are listed separately. Buy parts listed for 2011-2016 in your cab style, or call us to check.
