Call or Text (352) 722-5295Tail lights on the 2007.5-2010 Silverado 2500HD-3500HD
The heavy-duty Silverado that came with the LMM uses the GMT900 pickup tail lamp. It is the lamp other drivers see when you are slowing a loaded trailer down a grade, which is the real argument for paying attention to it. Cab style does not change it, and neither does box length by itself, but the 3500HD was built as a single rear wheel truck or a dually, and the dually box is substantially wider, so confirm what you have before ordering anything that mounts at the back corners.
How owners choose
Tail lights get replaced for three reasons on a truck this age: one is damaged, the owner wants LED output in place of the factory lamp, or the back of the truck no longer matches the front after a headlight change. We do not have a sourced factory failure pattern for these tail lamps, so we are not going to put a mileage or a symptom on it. Judge it by what you can see: a cracked lens, moisture inside the housing, or a lamp that simply is not as visible as you want behind a trailer.
Stock replacement vs. upgrade
A factory-style tail lamp is the direct fix. It mounts where GM put it and behaves like the original, which is all a work truck usually needs. The LED upgrade is a full housing rather than a bulb swap, which is why the finish matters and why it pairs naturally with a blacked-out headlight. These are built for the factory tail lamp opening, so this is a housing change, not a harness change; the listing for each one states what it plugs into and what is included, and that is the page to read first.
What we carry
AlphaRex Luxx-Series LED tail lights are listed here in black (620080) and alpha-black (620090). Both are finish choices on the same style of LED housing, so pick the one that agrees with the rest of the truck. If you are running black or jet black AlphaRex headlights up front on your Silverado HD, this is how the back end gets matched. For the rest of the lighting on this platform, including Duramax lighting electronics, work back up to the Lighting page for this truck.
Fitment notes
Start with the body. The 2007 Classic Silverado HD is the previous GMT800 truck and uses that generation of lamps; only the 2007 new-body Silverado shares lighting with 2008-2010. Then check the rear of the truck: a 3500HD dually uses the same cab as the single rear wheel truck but a wider box, so tail lamp fitment on a dually is worth verifying rather than assuming. Lamp interchange inside the GMT900 HD years is not something we can source cleanly, so verify by year and body style, use the fitment checker on the product page, and go by VIN when the answer is not obvious.
Frequently asked questions
Will these fit a 3500HD dually?
Verify it rather than assume it. The dually shares the cab with the single rear wheel truck but the box is wider, and that is exactly where tail lamps live. Check the fitment listed on the product page, and if it is not spelled out for your configuration, call the shop with the VIN before you order.
Is this a bulb or a complete housing?
A complete LED housing. You are replacing the tail lamp assembly, not putting a bulb into the factory lens, which is why it is sold by finish. The product page lists what the housing connects to and what hardware comes with it; read that before ordering, and bring the truck to us if you would rather we fit it.
Can I change only the tail lights and leave the headlights alone?
Yes. Nothing about these housings requires matching lamps up front. Plenty of owners run factory headlights with LED tail lights, and plenty go the other way. Matching finish front to rear is a styling choice, not a fitment requirement.
Not sure what fits? Call the shop at the number in the header, or use the fitment checker on any product page. We install everything we sell.
