Call or Text (352) 722-5295Sway bar hardware on the 2007.5-2010 Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD
GM sprung the front of these trucks with torsion bars working through upper and lower control arms, and the rear with semi-elliptical multileaf springs, two-stage on the 2500HD and three-stage on the 3500HD. The heavy-duty handling and trailering content specifies 35 mm twin-tube shocks and a 36 mm front stabilizer bar on the 2500HD, and 46 mm monotube shocks with a 34 mm bar on the 3500HD. Silverado HD single-rear-wheel trucks ordered with Z71 Off-Road got 36 mm twin-tube gas shocks, a 36 mm bar, jounce bumpers and skid plates. Whichever bar is under your truck, it works by twisting, and it can only hold the body flat if both ends are tied down tight.
Why owners replace this hardware
Roll control matters most when the truck is working. The 2500HD rear leaf pack is a two-stage spring, and owners loading a fifth wheel or a camper report rear squat, headlights aimed high and sway, which is the usual reason they start adding support out back. Rear axle capacity is 6,900 lb on the 2500HD, 6,500 lb on the 3500HD single-rear-wheel and 9,200 lb on the dually, with 4,800 lb at the front axle, so a truck running near its rating is leaning on small parts. If your Silverado has been leveled by cranking the torsion keys, check the steering while you are under there: raising the front-end angles accelerates ball joint, tie rod and idler and pitman arm wear, and that shows up as front-end clunks and tire wear.
Stock replacement vs. upgrade
A factory-style link puts the bar back to how it left the plant and quiets the truck down. BD Diesel sells its set as an upgraded replacement for the stock links instead, and that is the version to buy if the Silverado tows near its rating, runs a leveling kit, or spends time on rough ground. You are in there once either way and the labor is the same.
What we carry
BD Diesel upgraded sway bar end links, part 1032126, cataloged across 2001-2019 Duramax trucks, which covers the whole 2007.5-2010 LMM run. That is the sway bar hardware on this page; shocks, traction bars and the rest of the suspension components have their own pages.
Fitment notes
Two splits matter here. The 2007 model year was sold twice: the 2007 Classic Silverado HD is the older body with the LBZ engine, and the LMM only came in the new-body truck, which is why this page starts at 2007.5. Then for 2011 GM replaced the frame, control arms, torsion bars and leaf springs, so 2007.5-2010 suspension parts are their own fitment group and kits are cataloged 2001-2010 and 2011-up separately. Beyond that, confirm 2500HD versus 3500HD, single-rear-wheel versus dually, and 2WD versus 4WD by VIN, or run the fitment checker on the product page.
Frequently asked questions
My truck is a 2007 - is it an LMM?
It depends on which 2007 you have. The 2007 Classic Silverado HD is the previous-generation body and carries the LBZ; the new-body HD trucks from mid-2007 on carry the LMM. Check the VIN or the RPO label before you order anything in this section.
Do upgraded end links change how the truck rides?
They do not change spring rate or ride height. The bar decides how much the body is allowed to roll, and the links only decide whether the bar is connected to anything. Worn links let the bar do less than GM intended; new links hand that job back.
I am installing a leveling kit - should I order anything else?
Plan on going through the front end. Cranking the torsion keys raises the front-end angles and speeds up ball joint, tie rod and idler and pitman arm wear, so budget for steering support parts and an alignment along with the kit. Call the shop with the kit you are using and we will tell you what else to have on the bench.
